ge-þweran, str.v: to stir, beat or mix together; to churn, make thick (as butter from cream); (poetically) to forge. (yeh-THWEH-rahn / jɛ-ˈθwɛ-ran)

In the margin of a medieval manuscript a cat stands on its hind legs churning butter.

  1. I really look forward to my daily word. I’m teaching myself old English as I’m now old and English. A great way to keep my mind open.
