wæter-stoppa

wæter-stoppa, m.n: a bucket. [WÆ-ter-STOP-pa]

0908 waeter-stoppa

This rather disturbing image of the remains of a unicorn comes from a cookbook believed to be compiled by Geoffrey Fule. Geoffrey worked in the kitchens of Philippa of Hainault, who was Queen of England from 1328 to 1369. Read more about cooking unicorns on the British Library medieval manuscripts blog. I guess technically this is a unicorn-stoppa?
