  1. ‘Dwaas’ is still ‘fool’ in modern Dutch. If I read ‘gedwǣsmann’ then I could contruct ‘gedwaasde man’. This word is not actually in use in our language (except in poems), but everyone will understand what it means if I were to say it to someone.
