I suppose ‘bȳme’ originated from ‘wooden (instrument)’. Then the Dutch word ‘boom’ (‘tree’) or – even closer – the Frisian word ‘beam’ (‘tree’) both still relate to the original old English word. LikeLiked by 1 person
