1. Great compound. Beorn, favored by Tolkien, is quite mysterious. Isn’t Our Lord a beorn in the Rood? I’ve seen speculation that it is cognate with bear.

   • Interesting…do you remember where that appears–either Lord as “beorn” or cognate with bear theory?
